Preservation of the original 1940’s sandstone fronted façade was a key element of the scope and thus, was a key driver in development of the front façade. The stone was kept in its original condition and, its charming visual character harnessed and highlighted through such means as feature lighting and, the use of contrasting dark tones applied via such things as new black window frames, new charcoal roof cladding and new black and white feature porch tiling.
The 5.5 metre raked ceilings in the main Living area are a great feature in the new section of the home. The raked ceilings also allowed for a mezzanine upper storey to overlook the rear of the home.
